Mr. Frank Oppong- Yeboah is the Board Chairman of StarLife Assurance Company Limited. He graduated from the University of Ghana with a BA (Hons.) degree. He holds a Diploma with distinction in Insurance from the West Africa Insurance Institute (WAII).
He is a Chartered Insurer and a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (U.K.) He was the proud recipient of the prestigious Rutter Medal in 1999 for the best qualifying fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute worldwide. He has been in the Insurance Industry since 1984 and retired from active service in July, 2016.
He has attended several insurance management seminars and courses both locally and abroad. The courses attended include Munich Re Marine Seminar held at the SSNIT Guest House - Accra. The 8th Advance Course in Non- Life Insurance at SWISS Insurance Training Centre, Zurich, Switzerland and Willis Faber Marine Overseas Training Workshop, London.
Mr. Oppong-Yeboah was a member of the Legal and Ethics Committee of the Ghana Insurance Association as well as an executive member of the Life Council. He was a visiting lecturer for over 12 years at the West African Insurance Institute in the Gambia and also lectures at the Ghana Insurance College. Currently, he is a member of the Academic Board and the Evaluation Committee of the Institute.
In 2014, he was appointed the Board Chairman of Starlife Assurance Company Limited.
Appointed Chief Executive Officer in August 2014, Mr. Samuel Sakyi-Hyde is a banker by profession with over nineteen (19) years' experience in Financial Services Management, Rural Banking, Credit Risk Management, Domestic Operations, Business Development, Retail and SME Banking, Internal Audit, Treasury Management, Trade Finance and Project Management. He holds an International MBA from the Wisconsin International University College, Accra; and an MBA in Banking and Risk Management from Business School Netherlands.
Prior to his appointment at uniCredit, Mr. Sakyi-Hyde was the Head of Branch Network at uniBank and executed an unparalleled branch expansion exercise that increased the Bank's branches from twenty-one (21) to thirty (30) nationwide within nine (9) months. This was after his seven-year tenure as Head, SME Banking during which time uniBank's SME Unit grew into a full department. Mr. Sakyi-Hyde has also previously worked with Ga Rural Bank Limited and Amalbank Ghana Limited (now Bank of Africa), where he occupied various managerial positions.
Mrs. Akosua Duffuor is the Executive Director of uniCredit Ghana Limited. She has varied experience as an administrator and has held/hold various positions such as the Managing Director of Woodland Limited, Managing Director of Integrated Properties Limited and also a Director of Star Assurance till 2002.
She is also an accomplished private entrepreneur and a devoted Christian.
He holds Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce and an MBA in Accounting. He is a Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA), Ghana and has worked as Head of Audit at Metropolitan and Allied Bank. He joined uniBank in February 2001 as Head of Audit.
He is currently the Executive Director of uniSecurities Ghana Limited and also a Board member of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).
Mrs. Boatemaa D. Barfour- Awuah is currently the Executive Director of Star Assurance Company Limited. She graduated from the University of Leicester, U.K. with a BA (Hons) in History and Politics. She also holds an Msc in Management and an Msc in Accounting and Finance from the University of Southampton. Mrs. Boatemaa D. Barfour- Awuah is a Chartered Insurer and an Associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute, U.K.
Mrs. Barfour- Awuah was employed as a Legal and Administrative Assistant at Star Assurance in September 2001 and has risen through the ranks through her continuous dedication and commitment to excellent professional standards.
From the position of Legal and Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Barfour- Awuah was promoted to a Manager Trainee in July 2003 where she worked in all the various workgroups of the Company for four years. With her rich experience and training in insurance, in August 2007 she was made Manager in charge of the Broker Relations unit. Mrs. Barfour- Awuah distinguished herself in this position and was promoted to Senior Manager, solely responsible for Business Development in 2008. She performed her duties with enthusiasm to the admiration of all and after carving out a remarkable performance, in 2009 she was made the Executive Director .
Peggy is a practicing Lawyer and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana. Peggy was educated at the University of Ghana where she graduated in 2005 with First Class Honours in Sociology and Linguistics.
Subsequently, she obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons) from the University of London Law School in 2010 and thereafter attended the Ghana School of Law. She was admitted as a Member of the Ghana Bar Association in 2012.
Knowledgeable in a wide spectrum of law, Peggy is particularly skilled in Corporate Banking and Litigation. She worked as a private legal practitioner with Sam Okudzeto and Associates before joining uniCredit in May 2014.
Peggy is the Company Secretary of uniCredit Ghana Limited and TeleMedia Communications Limited.
